AISD’s Office of Redesign & the Austin Area Urban League (AAUL) have facilitated a dialogue with faith leaders aimed at identifying ways that AISD and the faith community can work together to help students graduate and prepare for college and career success. Through this dialogue, collaboration participants have developed the “College is Possible” Awareness Campaign and have identified several themes that can be used as a basis for engaging parents and students about college and career readiness. Participants are also woking towards the development of a Parent Champions/Leaders program through which parents and other church members will be trained to serve as a resources for other families that are part of their church family.
